We believe that living as a Humanist involves translating our philosophy into practical action. We regularly raise funds to support secular charities, such as Medecins Sans Frontieres and Oxfam Australia.
As a member of the international humanist organisation, The International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU), HSQ cooperates with the worldwide Humanist community to promote Humanist values and defend human rights. The IHEU was formed in 1952 and was closely connected to the establishment of the United Nations (UN). Today the IHEU enjoys consultative status with the UN.
