Get Secular Back in the Act

An Education Act for 2010 - free, secular, welcome to all

We wish to see a state education system that respects and welcomes all children regardless of religion or system of belief, this is only possible if our Education Act is secular in nature. Did you know that Queensland is the only state which does not have the term ‘secular’ in its Education Act? The word ‘secular’ was removed from our Education Act in 1910. HSQ believes it is time for Queensland to catch up with the rest of Australia and the developed world and equip our children with an education which prepares them for life in an ethnically, culturally and religiously diverse society.
